Arecleoch Wind Farm

Scottish Power Renewables, 60-turbine Arecleoch Wind Farm in South Ayrshire is the fourth largest of its kind in Scotland. With a total capacity of 120 megawatts and generating enough to power over 67,000 homes; the wind farm made a significant contribution to The Scottish Government’s target of producing 31% of electricity from renewable sources in 2011.

Boston Networks worked with its partner, BBESL, to provide a specialist commissioning service to prepare, terminate and test pre installed single mode fibre optic cables at each of the 60 new turbines and remote buildings within the wind farm.  Working in extreme terrain the Boston Networks engineers delivered the project on time, within budget and within the exacting tolerance specific to the challenging, bespoke project.
