Boston Networks has completed the design and deployment of a high-performing Wireless Network, delivering connectivity throughout the highly acclaimed Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum.
With integrated security, the resilient networks grants visitors, to one of the most visited museums in the United Kingdom, access to free onsite Wi-Fi as guests are now able to quickly self-register through a dedicated portal and safely browse the web.The network has paved the way for the Museum to introduce the delivery of digital content.
Visitors can now download interactive tours and treasure hunts, via the Wireless network, providing access to rich content surrounding exhibits and turning their mobile device into personal tour guides.
Boston Networks continue to work with Glasgow Life, to fully maintain and support the network from its dedicated Network Operations Centre. In addition Boston Networks and Glasgow Life are now exploring the possibility of expanding the solution, city wide, to provide a simple and single login for Wi-Fi access throughout key venues and attractions.
David Scott, Digital & New Media Curator, Glasgow Museums states:
Boston quickly gauged our needs at Kelvingrove Museum, and offered us a solution that would meet both our current and future needs. They’ve delivered a solution that provides a simple end user experience and a robust resource for providing interpretation for mobile platforms.
