Boston Networks has been working with Renfrewshire Chamber of Commerce and Renfrewshire Council to support STEM Fortnight 2016. With the aim of inspiring local primary and secondary pupils about a career in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Maths) related environment, the fortnight long event gave school pupils the opportunity to visit local companies to see first-hand the exciting work they undertake in each of the different disciplines.
Throughout the fortnight Boston Networks gave secondary pupils, from Paisley Grammar School and Trinity High School in Renfrew, the opportunity to take part in a STEM activity. Focussing on IP Video Surveillance and networking technology, a team of Boston Networks technology specialists demonstrated how different surveillance technologies are used to protect and connect residents and public spaces across Renfrewshire. As well as educational sessions, the pupils also got the chance to get hands on by trialling a host of different fixed and mobile surveillance technologies.
