Scotland's National IoT Network.
Scotland is taking a leading role in developing the UK IoT market thanks to a pioneering project to create a national IoT network. The £6 million IoT Scotland project is putting in place the UK’s most advanced network of its kind. It will create the infrastructure for companies and organisations to tap into the use of smart sensor technology applications.
In 2018, the Scottish Government announced a National IoT network for Scotland. In a public-private partnership, Boston Networks was appointed to build the UK’s most advanced Internet of Things (IoT) network – IoT Scotland.
IoT Scotland is a wide area sensor network for applications and services to collect data from devices and send that data without the need for cellular or Wi-fi, or even human involvement, effectively merging the physical and digital worlds.
